Weavers

I was with some friends for a pet therapy visit last evening, and one of them commented that he was disappointed that the tale of Tess' Weavers run at the NADAC agility trial didn't make it on the blog, so here goes:

When we were filling out the entry for the trial, my husband didn't want to enter Tess in the Weavers class, because weaves are not Tess' favorite obstacle. She's good for a couple sets of them, but he felt three sets of weaves in one course was pushing Tess' limit. Well, I entered her anyway, figuring no harm, no foul. It was a novice class and there were only six weaves in each set, instead of the twelve weaves found in the upper levels.

The day of the NADAC trial, as Jim was preparing for the Weavers run, he was sure that it was going to be difficult. He even told our friend not to bother videotaping the run, because it wasn't going to be pretty. Well, Tess took that as a personal challenge, and as you can see from the video, she handily did all three sets of weaves, qualified in the run, AND took second place!! We've all been teasing Jim ever since about talkin' trash on Tess and how she proved him wrong. Way to go, Tessie!!

Agility Videos

Just wanted to post a couple videos of Tess' runs at the NADAC trial. Many thanks to our friend Jim M. for taping Tess over the course of the weekend.

This video clip is of Tess' Open Jumpers run on Sunday. Jumpers is Tess' favorite agility class in any venue. This girl just loves to fly over those jumps!

NADAC has many fun classes, especially Tunnelers, which is a course made up entirely of tunnels. You can practically see the smile on Tess' face as she runs this one!

NADAC Agility

We took our first-ever agility road trip to a NADAC trial in Zanesville, OH, this past weekend. Tess had a phenomenal weekend, qualifying in 10 out of 11 runs and earning two NADAC titles! Jazz got quite a bit of attention, too. By the end of the weekend, she practically had her own fan club of people coming to see the "brown" Dalmatian. We had a very fun, relaxing weekend with our agility friends.

Six Pack!

My sister is taking an online Photo Shop course, and her most recent assignment was to create a "blinkie." In honor of the Steelers' sixth Super Bowl win, I couldn't resist posting this! Thanks, Carol...and congratulations to our Pittsburgh Steelers!!

Tess on Local News

I'm not sure how long this link will be active, but check out this video from our local Pittsburgh Channel 4 News that aired Saturday evening:

Tess appeared in a segment on the Splash 'n Dash Pup Rally. The video begins with a story about wounded Marines going to the Super Bowl, but the segement on the Pup Rally begins right after that, or you can forward the video to 1:28 to view just the portion about the Pup Rally.
We're very proud of Tess for being such a great ambassador for Dalmatians!
