Bark in the Park

Today, we volunteered to help our training club, Splash 'n Dash, do agility demos at an event called Bark in the Park, which is a fundraising event for Animal Friends.

Before our agility demo, we were able to enjoy the festivities at Bark in the Park.  The firefighters from Peebles Volunteer Fire Company brought their truck to fill the doggie pools for all the dogs to enjoy.

The firefighters loved seeing the Dalmatians and invited us to take pictures.  I love this shot!  As seems to happen to us frequently, when you gather 3 Dalmatians for a photo, people with cameras appear from nowhere, and that was no exception today.  The spotty dogs felt like stars surrounded by paparazzi!!

Here's a photo of the volunteers from Splash 'n Dash.

Part of the event included a mini car show, so we photographed the Dals in front of this old beauty.

No outing is complete without a picture with a guy dressed as a giant ice cream cone from Bruster's Ice Cream!!

Lest you think we goofed off the whole time, here are some pictures of the dogs doing the demos.  This is Indy showing everyone how to do the cavalettis, which are poles elevated off the ground to help dogs become aware of all their feet and lift them over the poles.

Jazz on the pause table during an agility demo.

Here's Tess introducing a young handler to the sport of agility.  Tess loves agility so much that she'll run for anyone, and she thrilled several kids by letting them lead her through the agility course.

We learned today that if you put three Dalmatians in the middle of any event like this, you draw a crowd!!  Our agility club thought that the spotted dogs were a great marketing tool...and Tess, Jazz, and Indy certainly enjoyed all the attention!

Extraordinary!

Tess earned her CPE Extraordinaire Standard title (ExST) this past weekend at Four Seasons K9 Athlete Center in Washingtonville, OH.  The ExST title requires 30 Standard qualifying legs in the Championship level.

Jazz also had a good weekend, qualifying in all but one run and finishing her Level 5 Jumpers, leaving her with just 2 Standard runs for her C-ATCH!

We had a lot to celebrate this weekend, as our friend Dave and his Border Collie Kameron got their C-ATCH.  Way to go, Dave and Kam!

The Bauer Dals

Here's the last installment of photos from our session with photographer Bethany Brown.  As you can see, we were successful in getting all three Dals in the same photo!

This is probably my favorite of the group photos.  Doesn't Indy look BIG compared to the girls?  Oh, yeah, Indy is BIG compared to the girls!  He's very lanky, very long, and he's taller than Tess...and, oh, man, can those long legs run FAST!!

Three sweet Dals.  We took pictures of these three in all different positions, from sitting, lying down, and even with Jazz standing over Indy while he was lying down!  Bethany was very creative, and we got dozens of great photos.  If you ever need a photographer in the northeastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, we'd highly recommend Bethany.

We're all in our places with smiles on our faces!

Kingdom's All That Jazz

Next in the series of photos is Jazz.  She's my serious girl.  While the other two were goofing off, she was taking her job as a model very seriously!

Here's Indy putting a smile on Jazz's face, as usual.  Jazz really loves Indy and they play endlessly.

See, I told you she was serious...

...and so very sweet!  I don't think I could ask for a better Dal companion than Jazz.  She's a once-in-a-lifetime treasure!

No photo shoot would be complete without trying to wrangle three active Dalmatians to get a picture of them all together.  Tune in to our next post to see how we did!

Starwood's Touched by an Angel

While our photo session was primarily for Indy, Bethany also took some pictures of the girls while we were at the park.

Here's a nice head shot of Tess.  Bethany did a great job of bringing out Tess' beautiful brown eyes, which are often lost in photos because of the dark markings on her face.

And talking about eyes, I just love the look in this photo!  It really shows Tess' mischievous side.

This photo brings out the true, happy-go-lucky nature of our Tess.  This girl is always ready for some fun and adventure!

Next up on our hit parade...Jazz!
